UNOCAL is joining the likes of Exxon-Mobile in under-writing proxy warriors to protect overseas assets. Exxon shells out for the Indonesia military to brutalize civillians in Acteh - which since 9/11 is recieving direct US backing again. UNOCAL is supporting the Burmese military, which quite literally runs a slave state, and routinely keeps the elected leader of the nation under house arrest. Back in 1999, UNOCAL withdrew from the Afghan pipeline project partly because of "pressure from women's groups", but apparently if they think they can get away with it they'll engage in terrorism and crimes against humanity, so long as there's a profit margin involved.
