air america - minor talking point:
for all I know Republicans in Utah had instant runoff voting, but what does this have to do with Diebold? Today (show for 4/1/04) caller starts talking about IRV, cue runnoff O'Reilley theme music, Randi Rodes dives into talking points about electronic voting's lack of paper trail. These are two unrelated topics. I enjoy being inundated with liberal propaganda as much as the next guy, but that's a poor segue, and, in the vein of libruls having as much interest [approx. none] in progressive reform of the election framework as conservatyves, pretty sad.
If the problem with Nader is the fact that he's running, and we agree that much of what he has to say has merit, then we should talk at least a little about the real problem with his running, rather than sit around whining about the fact that he's running. I'd rather he didn't, but the endless whining about it sure gets old. The demands, when and where they've been made, are downright anti-democratic: start up a draft Perot bid instead. There are simple solutions, either face them off or start selling some.
