The Uniform Monday Holiday Act inflicted more damage than merely the sacrifice of a presidential birthday for the sake of commercial convenience. It resurrected the stifling spirit of aristocracy, the very thing that America was born to overcome. For by defining and thereby treating all presidents as identical, Presidents' Day perpetuates a grand lie that places greatness and heroism in the same category as mediocrity, cowardice and abject failure.
For more vitriolic patriotism of this caliber, the snark is back, "more third world irrationality" is seemingly everywhere.
