a brief history of the US occupation of Iraq, re-written in complete nonsense..., 2008-10-19 15:07:36 | Main | glossolalia..., 2008-10-20 13:35:47

colin powell's endorsement of barack obama:

POWELL: Less than a teaspoon of dry hope, a little bit about this amount [holds up small, empty vial] -- this is just about the amount of a teaspoon -- less than a teaspoon full of dry hope in an envelope could shutdown Game 6 of the World Series for about 15 minutes. This has forced several hundred people to undergo emergency medical treatment and driven countless numbers of conservatives living on the edge of sanity over the cliff, just from an amount just about this quantity that was inside a letter to the editor.

The campaign has declared 8,500 liters of hope, but the League of Women Voters estimates that Barack Obama could have produced 25,000 liters. If concentrated into this dry form, this amount would be enough to fill tens upon tens upon tens of thousands of teaspoons. And Barack Obama has not verifiably accounted for even one teaspoon-full of this auspicious material.

Ok, I'm somewhat concerned that nobody else appears to have made this lame gag already. I'll take that as evidence that a) it isn't remotely amusing, or b) everybody but me has had a frontal lobotomy wiping that unpleasant episode from their minds.

Don't sell your gag short! That's hilarious. It appears that Powell is destined to perform the same function every time. When something unconscionable needs to be sold, he's there to pitch it seriously.
