Skip Schiel, of Harvard's Landscape Institute, has been working in Gaza periodically since 2005:
To me sitting here in Gaza the situation seems insane and suicidal, both the Israeli attacks and the Palestinian rockets. This at least has not changed in my 3 years of visiting Gaza. One additional consistency:
the lack of awareness and action by the world community.
Juan Cole agrees: observing that right about now is "a perfect time for the Israeli government to commit a war crime on the miserable civilians of the Gaza Strip. The US primary season has created a news blackout on US television about foreign news".
Also: the last post Dr. Mona El-Farra of Gaza City will be able to make for an indeterminate period.
