Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) on why he didn't co-sponsor the Senate's lynching apology: “The best way for the United States Senate to condemn lynching is to get to work on legislation that would offer African Americans and other Americans better access to good schools, quality health care and decent jobs.”
That's all good and fine, it's just a little rich coming from a guy who routinely opposes legislation to improve access to good schools, quality health care and decent jobs.
