The Tata Nano:
Stop it before it pollutes again:
It promises to be, said Yale environmental law professor Daniel Esty, "an environmental disaster of substantial proportions."
A few millions of a car that emits 30 g CO2 per km simply isn't even an influence upon global CO2 emissions, let alone a disaster of even insubstantial portions. At that emission rate, doing 20,000 km a year each car will produce 600 kg of CO2: one hundred million of them on the roads would be less than 1 per cent of current emissions of over 6 Gtonnes.
I was kind of expecting to toss in some credit for reducing animal emissions, but oh well.
50 miles to the gallon for $2,500 instead of $25,000. It's an ecological disaster I tell you. I want one.

America has over 250 million cars on the road and most of them are all super fuel guzzlers and hyper polluting vehicles equipped with 6 and 8 cylinders. These cars don't cause "environmental disasters" but a few million 600 odd cc small cars... will cause one. My foot... these Americans are so jealous of India attaining prosperity and comfort. They just want Indians to remain perennially poor so they can continue spitting on us and calling us 'bloody Indians'

I think you're thinking of the Brits, mate. Here in America it's either "short circuit" or "bollywood", short of "we should just nuke it and start over".
