Wither Afghanistan:
An anon poster with the handle "VietVet" started talking about the trans-Afghanistan pipeline, and reminded me to "WAKE UP". Oi, the rabbit hole doth strike oil:
US forces in Afghanistan are coagulating around the pipeline route while a security vacuum has emerged across the rest of the country, and the Halliburton subsidiary Brown and Root is "supporting operations in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Georgia, Jordan and Uzbekistan."
Michael McKinley of the department of political science at the Australian National University in Canberra puts it bluntly, "The U.S. has no interest in Afghanistan apart from putting a pipeline through it."
Yee haw.
